For the creation of this Photo Book, we learned how to use the program Adobe InDesign in Design class. It was a frustrating experience at times but in the end it was a very satisfying and rewarding experience. We started off with a test book called a Mock Doc to gain a little bit of experience using InDesign before getting started on our actual book.

For a couple of days, we practiced placing photos, adding text, and adding effects to our Mock Docs to get used to the program. We were also exposed to common problems InDesign users usually run into and we were taught how to fix them in case we ran into those problems while making our real documentary books.

We started off the creation of our documentary book with a blank template from the Blurb Book site. Then, we had to choose a color scheme to use throughout our book to give it unity. I chose colors that I see often while at New Hope. From then on, we used the knowledge we gained from making our Mock Docs as well as what we had been learning in Design class from our previous units and projects.
