About Me

Hey! I’m Jules, I’m a film student, and my life has basically revolved around the arts since I was born. I love all things theatre, music, film, and photography so I definitely intend on keeping it a prominent part of my life. I hope to go to school for film and eventually become a cinematographer. For those keeping score there aren’t a whole lot of ’em that come from a background like mine! I’ve been in dance, and theatre since I was around 4 and performed in too many shows to count. Recently I’ve started more individual projects that have helped me figure out who I am as an artist and as a person. I LOVE songwriting and organising crazy cabarets to give back to the arts since I don’t think I’d know what to do with myself without it.

Depending on who you ask, I could be described as a lot of things. A lot of my friends would describe me as quiet or reserved, but super goofy and loud once you get to know me. When I work on the projects that I do, I have to communicate with adults and professionals. I aim to present myself as a grounded and driven person and I think that describes me pretty well too. I’m a self starter and when I want to complete something I work non-stop till I get it. Which could also say something about my sleep schedule. ANYWHO. My friends and family make me who I am and I’ve always been one to advocate for them in any scenario. I’m spontaneous and creative which means any shoot will end up on a roof or laying face down in the middle of the road to many curious elderly’s amusement. I also love doing street photography with my dad, going on random drives with friends blasting our latest music obsession, skateboarding, and playing with my dog. Fun fact: my mom and I have mirroring double piercings!!

When I heard about FA from an older theatre friend a few years ago I was really intrigued by the aspect of getting to be surrounded by like minded creatives. I can already feel the benefit of working with other people that want to push themselves to be produce their best work and still maintain so focussed on their academics. I feel like I want to work on being accustomed to other people’s input since I work alone so much of the time. To be more open and more adventurous in new styles and concepts is probably my top focus right now. I am so excited to be joining Freestyle and can’t wait to see what opportunities and challenges it has in store.
