Introduction
“How can you find, explore, and/or expand your passion?”
For the Explorations Project, all Freestyle juniors explore their own passions and improve upon a particular skill set that addresses real skill used in the industries.
Film
For my Explorations Project I decided to explore the use of special effects makeup. I chose this topic because I while back I saw a YouTube video o someone doing special effects makeup and it really amazed me. When I heard about this project I was beyond excited and I instantly knew what I was going to do.
Reflection
I am very happy that I chose to do this project because I was able to explore something that is used a lot in television. I think I got a lot better as time went on and it was very interesting to see how I grew over time with the montage of all of my attempts. I am very excited to use this in the future when making films such as my senior narrative.
Music
For my experimental music I decided to experiment with the Midi pianos that we had. I had never played an instrument before, so I decided that it was best if I do a cover. I originally wanted to do 30/90 from Tick Tick Boom but I eventually decided that it was too difficult or me. After that I decided to switch to Shallow from A Star is Born because it was a lot easier.
Reflection
I had a lot of fun with this project as I was able to make music and play an instrument which I’ve never done before (not including faking the recorder in the fourth grade.) This was definitely a new experience or me and taught me a lot about producing music and how long it takes.
