A Hundred Eyes: A Senior Black and White Mandala Design by David Tran (2020)

Since I am a first year senior, I had some trouble setting up the template and using Adobe Illustrator for the first time. Not only did I value the time I spent trying to create the mandala, I also valued the time I spent trying to set up the whole project. When creating the mandala, I felt calm and relaxed. I wanted to have a creepy and eerie design so I decided to base it off of eyes and hands. I had a whole lot of fun creating this project and learned that I am not bad of an artist.

At first I thought a mandala was supposed to be based on a floral pattern, but after seeing the other previous senior’s projects, I realized that it could be based on anything. Instead of the basic floral patterns I used eyes and hands to demonstrate a more ominous look. I also used simple shapes and lines to create a more ancient looking effect.Through this project, I learned that the longer and more effort I put into something, the better it will turn out.
