This project gave me the opportunity to tell an audience a little bit about myself and my current interests without having to use any words. It was really fun for me to create this because I was able to just sit back, listen to some music and put into doodles who I am, hence why this really felt like a -personal- mandala. There were many doodles that didn’t make it to the final piece but through trial and error, I’m happy to say that I really did love the final product. Many of these doodles are also easter eggs from fandoms that could be easily recognized, from the Zelda sword to the tiny baymax over the cloud. I titled my mandala “Ease my mind” because not only was it really relaxing to do this artwork, I think that everything in this mandala represents or has represented certain moments in my life when I connected through the work of others (movies/videogames/shows) and they helped me very literally “ease my mind” in times of stress or uncertainty. Through the process of creating this mandala I was really able to see flashbacks of my life as I created each doodle and doing that helped me look within all the progress I’ve made to be a better person ever since; it gave me the chance to see who I am today compared to who I was before and seeing how much I’ve grown was very heartwarming.
