For this project we were told to make a multi-layered art piece, I decided to do the lightbox because I thought it was aesthetically pleasing. We were given the freedom to do anything that showed who we were. I decided to do a piece that was dedicated to the movie Donnie Darko because it’s my favorite movie and the character Donnie resonates with me so much.
I used Adobe Illustrator for this project and my own two hands. First, we needed to draw the design in Illustrator which was challenging but I figured it out. Then it got laser cut and then we had to assemble it which was a learning curve. It took me a while and a lot of breaks to get it all together but it got done. I feel like I grew in my problem-solving skills because I had to solve problems as they kept coming at me. I also grew in my Illustrator skills which I’m happy about because it’s my favorite Adobe program.
