Yvonne, the girl in the photograph, is preparing to attend a fashion show in Los Angeles, which is one of the most hip and fashionable cities in the US. She's buying a variety of colors to match the outfits that she's going to wear at the show to impress people and make herself feel more confident. This photo diptych shows the internal conflict of obsession and the external conflict of having too many options. Yvonne has these same conflicts toward things that are very popular, and since everyone has it, it makes her want to follow everyone's footsteps. She always has this force that hypnotizes her into getting stuff that is not necessary. This puts her in a position where she can't make up her mind, also known as her external conflict, or too many options.

The first photo shows the fact that nail polishes are popular among teenagers. The girl in this photo shows that she is struggling to pick her favorite color, and she stands there and stares at hundreds of colors. However the girl still can't make up her mind. After a long period of time, she decides to grab several bottles of nail polish, not thinking if it's even necessary to get this much.
