Striking Fear: A Junior Narrative Illustration by Dean Rossi (2012)

My fiction tells of a man who is given the prime opportunity to defeat his enemies. However, he is limited in terms of resources. The character has one chance to succeed. Tension rises, as he fears that his attempts will not shine through in the end. Regardless, he has to at least try sometime. Fortunately, he realizes that he can use his own enemies as weaponry. Horrible, but necessary. Patience builds up until the very moment he acts, but he steps over the line, is charged with a foul, and loses the round of bowling. The entire fiction is a metaphor of bowling, so my illustration reflects it. To establish the sort of bleak feeling that my writing creates, the entire scheme was created of broken lines and jagged brush strokes, covered in monochrome and red. ''Patience'' is written using perspective, as to demonstrate the importance of the matter. A turtle watches from the distance, acting as the one in control of the ball. Hoping it will strike the structure, somewhat resembling both the Kremlin and a bowling pin. He will fail, as that was a consequence of his haste.
