Choices: A Junior Self-Portrait Illustration by Alex Stuwe (2012)

The image I have decided would represent my fear of having too many options. The way I have decided to represent this image is by having a table with several boxes on top of it. Each of these boxes will have a number and above the table will be a line saying ''which box will you choose?'' I have the background a deeper blue color with stars all around to symbolize space. I chose this because in space the possibilities to explore are endless. I chose to do this subject matter because when I am faced with the chance to choose one thing out of many options I tend to freeze up and I'm unable to choose. I feel that with the choice that I take, I will be happy with it but the other choices could have yielded a bigger or better reward. This leads me to miss out on many opportunities with friends and possible memories I'll never know about.

Creating this illustration in design has been somewhat of a challenge. We've had to create many layers to make sure that the separate objects in our illustration aren't all linked together. We also use photo filters to help enhance the mood of certain aspects of the illustration. I have applied a cooling filter to my blue background to give it a slightly darker look to it in hopes that people will get a sense of mystery from what hides behind that layer.
