Dripping Ice Cream: A Junior Self-Portrait Illustration by Annamari Jaaksi (2012)

My illustration, ice cream dripping on a table with a TV in the background represents irresponsibility and failure. Irresponsibility because my parents often complain about be not taking care of everything and cleaning up after I go, and leaving ice cream around is a good way to represent that. Failure because I feel like when my parents complain about my irresponsibility, I fail to do what they want me to and so fail to please them. Even though I do sometimes act irresponsibly, that doesn’t mean that I want to fail my parents. Other things distract me, and in my illustration the TV acts as an example of something distracting.

For the illustration, I used a picture that I then traced over on Adobe Illustrator. I colored it in and added for example the sprinkles and different shades by using the paint brush and pencil tool.
