Connecting the Dots: A Senior Mise en Scene Illustration by Jack Marquez (2013)

This photo was taken in a dark spot to communicate the idea of loneliness in a stressful time. The back of stolen concert tickets stands out, but the focal point is on the mom's face. I used the strong vignette to clearly frame these elements and add to the dark atmosphere. I also think the vignette works well with the ''live trace '' effect to give the picture an almost surreal feel.
