Balancing Act: A Junior Self-Portrait Diptych by Frank Kapp (2013)

In my personal poem, I talk a lot about the stress that comes with dedicating lots of time to something, in my case football, and not being successful. At some point, all the stress and pain will make you feel ''numb.'' This line from my poem is what inspired the left side of my diptych. In this side of the picture, we have a fountain that is simply bubbling water slowly. I feel relaxed when looking at this side of my diptych, which is something I often desperately want and even need...relaxation.

The right side of my personal poem embodies the stress and pain of my poem. While in my poem I am talking about how football makes me suffer, homework does not release any tensions either. I chose homework to embody pain, because ''My heart sinks,'' every time I look at all my homework and realise I must do it all. Constant overloading of homework seriously takes a toll on my sleep, which ultimately affects my entire day. My diptych demonstrates the reason relaxation is necessary.
