Balance Act: A Junior Self-Portrait Illustration by Aleksandr Appel (2013)

My illustration idea comes from both my poem and my essay where I say that not thinking about what I am doing can help me succeed in whatever it is that I'm doing. I have observed that in my life, when I am too aware of the consequences and when I think about them too much, I do a lot worse than when I do not.

The analogy I used is a tightrope walker walking across a canyon. Not thinking about it makes it easier to do. The tightrope represents the hardships in life so it says ''stressstressstressstressstress'' in small font. The river below says ''consequencesconsequensesconsequences'' which represents the consequences of that stress which can be very hurtful to the tightrope walker.
