Orbital Difference: A Junior Self-Portrait Illustration by Alexander Hammerschmidt (2013)

My illustration is of the moon and silhouettes of average people. The moon is me in this case and I am not shown as a silhouette like the other people because I am different. In my essay/poem, I describe my love for classic rock and as a teen in this generation, makes me very different. The reason why I used the moon is because I’ve always thought space and the moon were really cool and it reflects who I am.

I also used silhouettes of people and thought it was really cool and that it was a great way to have metaphorical meaning as well as show a difference from the moon
