The sacrifice for the dream: A Junior Self-Portrait Illustration by Carter Lee (2013)

The theme I used from my personal essay that I used to show in my illustration was ''There are things people are willing to sacrifice not only to achieve their goals but their dreams.'' Meaning that some people will go great distances to make sure their goals and dreams are reached, even if that means sacrificing their friends.

I used specific symbols to represent this theme, the symbol with the most meaning behind it is the wrestlers victory arm being raised. This represents achievement in the biggest way, it means that you were the one that earned that raise, along with that big trophy behind it. To show sacrifice I used a clock with the ''12'' replaced with a chinese symbol meaning friendship, and it represents me and shows that I have had to sacrifice my time and friends to rightfully earn that victory.
