Crossroads: A Junior Self-Portrait Illustration by Maxwell Evans (2013)

In my essay, I wrote about how there were two paths in front of me - a dirt road and a concrete road. The essay also talked about how there was a wooden sign pointing in two different directions, towards the opposite paths. I stood at the crossroads, deciding which path to go; Do I enter the unsafe and mysterious dirt path, or do I take the easy and secure concrete road? It cannot be seen where the roads lead, as they curve around a large mountain right behind the crossroads sign. Which road should I take?

In the actual illustration, you can see all of the four main objects mentioned previously. The crossroads sign is the main focus of the illustration, as it is the most important piece. It points me to my destination, whether I take the right or left path. The two roads are also present in the illustration - a poorly made dirt road and a nice, safe concrete road. Finally, the mountain blocks me from seeing the ends of the two roads, so I have no idea where they go. They both curve towards a similar direction, however, so perhaps they could even reach the same destination?
