Pure Bliss: A Narrative Character Portrait by Rocio Robles (2014)

Ash Jaeger is a young dorky, and nerdy 13 year old. He's not very good with sports, socializing, and likes to keep all his emotions inside him. It's the month of August, and Ash spends most of his days at the annual Lake Arrow Festival. He spends most of his time sitting next to an oak tree near Lake Arrow in Gilroy. Even though Ash is very reclusive of his environment, deep down he desires to be notice by someone, and that's when it all changed when he meet cute little Miss Ally Rose. Ash attempts to impress Ally by winning her a prize in a ball booth game, but fails because his lack of skills in sports. Eventually he found out Ally has another boy in her life, tall brooding, and handsome. This devastates Ash, he was trying too hard to impress the girl of his dreams by masking his true identity.

Although, Ash receives the wish he always wanted by the prettiest girl he ever seen. In this photo I wanted to capture the scene where Ash receives a note from Ally. The paper hat, and position of my character represents how childlike Ash can be. The orange-yellow lighting portrays how Ash escapes from his sorrow and sees the better side of life. Even though he did not get what he desired he received the gift of friendship.
