Virtual Frustration: A Narrative Character Portrait by Thomas Wilson (2014)

In this portrait, I portray the character Austin. Austin is your average recluse. With few real friends, he escapes the outside world in the safety of his room. But with a near death experience on his bike, he comes to realize the beauty of the nature around him and that he needs to change.

In my photo, Austin is portrayed playing video games in his room. I used a black background in order to give a feeling of him being cramped by his room as well as a decrease in contrast to help set a gloomy mood. His expression of anger shows how this lifestyle isn't working for him. The trash I used was an extra representation of his sloppy lifestyle. Overall I think it does a good job in showing how Austin is living a bad lifestyle that needs to change.
