Daniel Green: A Senior Profile Portrait by Justin Walker (2014)

For my profile unit I was privileged enough to profile Daniel Green, a world record holding powerlifter; currently holding records in multiple weight classes. In addition to his powerlifting career he also owns a gym in Mountain View, California called ''Boss Barbell Club''. The reason I decided to profile Dan is because from a powerlifting standpoint he inspires me, and for that reason I wanted to find out more about him through my chance to profile him.

From working with Dan on this project I learned that he is extremely humble and welcoming which is notable considering he continues to set and break his own world records in powerlifting, a sport often associated with big egos. In addition to learning more about Dan, I learned more about myself and have since grown as a person. I learned what It is like be professional and work around others in a mature manner. I also experienced what it is like to meet my heros and the anxiety that comes with that experience, because I have felt that anxiety and overcome it I am now more confident working with others on a professional level.
