Scott Douthit: A Senior Profile Portrait by Helena Steffens (2014)

Mr. D - I chose to profile Scott Douthit, who is also known as ‘Mr. D'. Mr. D is a teacher at Charles Armstrong School in Belmont, which is a school for dyslexic students. What sets him apart from most teachers at the school is that he is dyslexic himself, which greatly allows him to connect with his students. Mr. D teaches drama and P.E. and finds ways to transform many students' education.

Mr. D intrigues me because of how determined he his. I learned about many hardships in his life and he always described to me how he overcame them. This experience allowed me to further understand that when you have a set goal, nothing can stop you from achieving it.
