Val Liberty: A Senior Profile Portrait by Audrey Gerughty (2014)

Val Liberty is a youth minister at St. Simon's Parish. I chose Val because she is very involved in community service and social justice, which is a topic that is important to me. This project was meaningful to me because I learned more about Val as well as growing as a designer and writer. I learned how to shoot in manual with a DSLR camera, how to use Adobe InDesign and Photoshop to edit photos and design a magazine article, how to write an effective profile paper, and how to use Adobe Dreamweaver and After Effects to create my profile website and media feature. I also grew as a person through learning to focus on growth rather than perfection, which was something I struggled with during the course of this project.
