1761-Another Treaty: A Senior Humor or Satire Art Project by Emily Markman (2014)

The type of humor I used for this piece is a political cartoon in order to use satire to get my point across about the how useless treaties between America and the indigenous people living here have been in the past and continue to be today.

I drew the hands in Photoshop and then liquified the sleeves in order to give it more life. After I used a noise filter and a pixel filter in order to give the hands more life and more depth. It almost looks watercolored now. Because I wasn't satisfied with just having hands and the text there, I used an image of a treaty (made in 1761, a nod to the title of my piece) and then put it as the background. I felt this added more to the commentary I was trying to convey through my art.
