Satire: A Senior Humor or Satire Art Project by Taylor Houston (2014)

For my design project, I created a satirical photograph. I took a picture of a boy who is getting his nails painted. The girl who is painting his nails also goes against society's constructs to an extent because she looks more masculine than the stereotypical girl you would expect to be painting other girls nails. This piece is basically a criticism of rigid gender and social norms.

I used Photoshop to produce this photo. I took the picture and added a filter to add the soft painting effect because I thought that made it really stand out more and kind of mocked the fact that social and gender norms are old, by making my photograph look more like an old painting.
