Floating Thoughts: A Senior Amplified Art Project by Nicholas Lamm (2015)

Floating thoughts is a piece made entirely without planning. By taking quick arts, and words from quickwrites, and arranging them on the fly, as I made this project. Even this artist statement is pure stream of consciousness. I will make no edits to the general structure when I am done.

For me, blink and the amplified project was a journey into the world of my mind. My brain spits out random thoughts constantly, and it is up to me to censor or use them. Most often, to censor, lest the people around me be consumed in a stream of lexical white noise. Blink was the uncensoring of my constant thoughts, where I allowed the ideas to flow out onto the page, and then clipped the parts that drew my eye and placed them into the picture you see here.
