The Moon and the Sun: A Junior Design Student Conceptual Project by Avery Deaton (2015)

I made a Yin-Yang sign out of bottles in my house. I used various types of bottles or containers with a circular tops. I couldn't think of how to show that the Yin-Yang sign felt shame but then I thought of making one of the sides smaller than the other because it is ashamed of being smaller than the other side but still accepted for being smaller as you can never separate the two from each other. At first the lighting in the photo was an orange color but I made it a cooler and darker color. In my house I have hardwood floors and thought it would be a good lighting that reflected off the bottles and made it shine. I made sure I used the rule of thirds to make it look cool and professional. In Photoshop I made sure I didn't go too overboard because I didn't want it to look too Photoshopped and wanted to make it look realistic. I have learned a lot about Photoshop in only 2 weeks and like how we can change the background or the objects that I have selected. What I learned helped my final photo look like it's a drawing and made it look really out of the box.

In the beginning I had to crop it so the bottle and bowl in the middle were on the rule of thirds and then go on from there. In my photo I had all these shadow spots and didn't know what to do. But then I remembered that I can use the bandaid one to clean up the photo and fix the shadows and make them disappear. My photo really shows that even if you feel small and not everyone accepts you, just know that at least one person or thing will love you and be next to you no matter what. Yin-Yang is the perfect example because they will be next to each other and will always help each other out through anything they come across. They will be side by side and will get through anything that comes their way as long as they are with each other. Yin-Yang is the friendship of all friendships and people show relate to them when it comes to friendship.
