My story is centered around a young man named Nick Contreras. Nick doesn't have any known family, but has one close friend, Alex. For his whole life, Nick has felt alone in the world. He's always wanted someone to call family: a brother, a sister, a parent. He desperately tries to search for someone he can call family. Nick finally finds someone who shares his name, but he has no way to contact him. Nick is running out of options. Desperately, he puts an ad online in search of his distant cousin. A man responds to his ad, and him and Nick plan to meet. Nick's cousin comes to Nick's house and they spend a few days getting to know each other. Nick and his cousin grow closer and closer and spend a lot of time together while Nick and Alex grow further apart. One day, out of the blue, Nick's ''cousin'' disappears after robbing Nick. Nick, initially heartbroken, realizes that although he doesn't have blood relatives, his friend, Alex, is family.
