Privalege: A Senior Black + White High Dynamic Range Diptych by Gabrielle Viera (2016)

My art is reflecting privileges and non privileges. People who are given things don’t need to work for the things they need and others do. I showed this through the stuffed animal being at the water fountain able to drink and with the other stuffed animal being basically in the middle of nowhere. When coming up with this idea I had a hard time trying to show this concept through my photograph but soon it hit me. For something small like the stuffed animal to be stuck in the vast “nowhere” and for the other having help and being where it can survive is the way I wanted to show it. Learning how to make this Diptych was difficult but learning through Photoshop and on how to use different layers helped add to the dynamic of the photo.
