Aboriginal Koi: A Aboriginal Dot Painting by Fiona Householder (2019)

In the aboriginal project, we explored the concept of implied line, by making implied lines with dots. For my animal, I chose a koi fish, because I think they are elegant, and I think they make good paintings and drawings, because implying the movement of their tails is very beautiful and interesting. I also thought that koi colors would make a very nice color scheme, because kois are so brilliantly colored.

I chose orange and red for my color scheme, because I knew they would look very vibrant against the black paper. I tried to imply a stream with my blues, because koi live in water, and also because I knew the hot and cool colors would contrast nicely. Related website
