Gravity?: A Junior Illustration Project by Belle Williams (2020)

For my Illustrator project, I decided to create stickers because I wanted to be able to give my friends stickers of my artwork to put wherever they want. I drew an Arizona Tea can and a milk carton with a slash through the middle because I find it satisfying when things are sliced cleanly in half. I particularly like what happens with the liquid inside. It is all being splashed in one direction in the Arizona Tea can, but with the Milk carton the liquid is miscellaneously defying gravity. I found that the liquid defying gravity especially unsettling with its ominous, non-milk color. I wanted to get the idea across to think outside the lines and let your creativity flow.

From this project I valued being able to have the freedom to make anything I wanted with little or no restraints, within reason of course. Also, I enjoyed being able to work on my Illustrator skills and develop them more by playing around with all the amazing tools it offers me. I used the pen tool and the brush tool to make both of my stickers. The pen tool can be very hard to use at first, but I think I'm finally getting the hang of it now. I came up with the idea of the Arizona Tea can and the milk carton from my imagination because I always drink Arizona Tea and I always think of cutting it in half. For some reason, that is oddly satisfying to me thinking about the way that would look. Related website
