May the Force (Patch) Be With You: A Junior Illustration Project by Annika Abad (2020)

The message I’m trying to convey with my Illustrator Project is how much impact the movie Star Wars had on a lot of people. It was an inspirational movie/series to a lot of people and showed a lot of imagination. The amount of editing and filming into it really inspires me to do so much more when I do editing or filming. I valued mostly the time and how precise you need to be when making this project. The steps in making this patch was easy but you had to make sure it isn’t super detailed and if it is, you have to make them look bigger. I got the inspiration of making a Jedi patch because my family is a big Jedi fan and I thought it would be cool to make a patch of it. I also decided to make a patch because I wanted to do something different, since I already know how to make a sticker, this was something I thought would be different. In the process of editing this, I had to first find a picture of Yoda, then move it to Illustrator. I traced it out, fixed it the way I wanted it to look. I then added a font. Then I had to move it to a different program so that I would be able to sew it out from the sewing machine. I had to choose colors for all the parts of my patch. And then, you just have to sew them out. Related website
