Rotary Speaker Appreciation Book Program: A Junior One Page Flyer by Akhand Dugar (2020)

For the past year, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Bring Me a Book, a Bay Area-based nonprofit that strives to encourage early childhood literacy. When we were tasked with creating a one-page flyer, I went to Bring Me a Book and asked if there were any events that they needed to use the flyer for. They decided they wanted a flyer designed for their Rotary Speaker Appreciation Book Program, where they work with local Rotary clubs to honor any guests of the club by donating books to underprivileged children in the speaker’s name.

The flyer was going to be used at a Rotary fair to advertise the program. Unfortunately, due to the onset of COVID-19, the fair never occurred. However, the flyer was still distributed online, so my work wasn’t for nothing!

This project taught me a lot more about using InDesign for practical purposes. After completing the project, I used the knowledge I gained from it for magazine articles, newspapers, and postcards. This is definitely one of the most helpful projects I’ve done at Freestyle! Related website
