I made a poster for the movie release of Ponyo. Ponyo is my favorite Studio Ghibli movie and one of the few things I remember from my childhood. I love how all Studio Ghibli movies have powerful and important messages behind them. In Ponyo, the creators focus on the problem of ocean pollution, which can be seen through the scene with Ponyo and the glass container, and by the motives of the antagonist who wants to eradicate humans to restore the ocean. I used value to create areas on my background where white text could pop out. I used super simplistic shapes to show the main characters of the movie without overcrowding my flyer with details.
