I chose to make my InDesign flyer on music, specifically indie music. From there I was able to brainstorm other elements that would go with indie music. I chose the location to be a field, specifically Westwind Open Space Preserve as it is somewhere I go to take pictures and go on hikes all the time. As well I love spring and the beauty that comes with Spring with everything in full bloom all around us and beautiful weather. This added to the feeling of happiness and love and community that I was trying to create. The goal of my feild party is to bring people together, to have fun, and to enjoy the world around us.
The elements of design that I am most proud of in this piece is my use of space and alignment. You will notice that I only used a total of two fonts and used up all the space on the page, leaving room for your eyes to wander with enough white or blank space. I paid attention to my alignment of my photos as well as the themes of centering my title and aligning the information to the left side of the page. The center alignment is also a repeated theme in my flyer. As well I chose a pretty peach pink color in the background and a darker shade of the pink to incorporate and unify my graphic design element of the flowers in the top right and bottom left corners into the flyer. As well I created all of the flowers in the poster in AdobeIllustrator which I was really proud of. Especially my big sunflower that draws the viewer in.
