Cash For Cars: A Junior One Page Flyer by Hugo Pappalardo (2020)

I chose to do a cars for cash flyer because whenever I think of advertisements I think of KQED’s cars for cash (or cash for cars) ad. This is because that specific ad was one of two or three they had played every morning when I was in the car as a kid (for a short period of time). As I did not know of any ongoing cars for cash events I chose to do a fictitious ad with my own photos. The reason I decided to go with this idea and make it my one page flyer was so that I could not only showcase some of my own photography but incorporate some fonts I had wanted to use previously in a scenario similar to this. In addition, I was rather stumped at first as to the subject matter, so as I do with most things nowadays I tried to look back on past experiences to see if there was anything I could draw from.

In terms of the elements of the design I am most proud of, I must say that I am happy with the shot of the front fender of the mustang I chose to use in one of two compositions present in the ad. I had had this photo sitting in my phone for two years and I had not had a chance to utilize it yet. In addition, I was also grateful I got to utilize the font “Broadway” which was the font I chose for the title as I had been looking for an opportunity to use a font of this variety but was never able to because the theme of what I was designing just did not seem right.
