I created this artwork because I recently had planted spinach in my backyard and I thought it would be fun to create a flyer on that if I were to ever want to sell vegetables in the future. This was a fun project to create because it allowed me to be flexible with what I wanted to create and use my skills to create a flyer. I learned about Spinach through this project, as I researched the ideal planting times and growing seasons for spinach, but I did not include this information in my flyer. Through this process I learned how to deepen my understanding for InDesign. I watched Mr. Florendo’s videos and I gained understanding on how to create a project. I learned how to add effects to create drop shadows and outer glows to add emphasis on my drawings. I learned how to create other effects and how to place images to make my flyer stand out and add a style that it was lacking before. I used the pen tool and images to create what is in the flyer, drawing the shapes that are there and importaning the image from Google. I used colors to add emphasis, for example, purple stands out in contrast with green adding emphasis and adding importance to the spinach, which is why I made the background purple.This project was important to me as a design student, as by studying this application I have gained exposure to one of the most important design applications in the world and will help my once I get into my design class.
