Déjà-View: A Junior Illustration Project by Harrison Denman (2021)

I was inspired for this project thanks to a dream I had close to the introduction of the initial assignment. Though a lot of the dream is hazy, I distinctly remember it ending on a shot similar to what I created.

The main struggles I found myself tackling was the overall balance of the setting. I experimented with a few different prototypes before settling on the final composition. After that it was just a matter of deciding how it would be best to use color.

I think my favorite part of this project was learning the software through experimenting, and then seeing it all come together to make the final product. I think that really gave me an appreciation for how much effort and inspiration illustrator based artists use in their work. If I could do it again, I think I would adjust the colors to better unify the setting, if that makes sense. In the future, I hope to keep learning the ins and outs of illustrators to create works that I'm proud of. Related website
