Tragedy of the Common is an unofficial band I have with a few friends. It’s mostly us bouncing lyrics and ideas off of each other, but we’ve found it to be a good form of self expression and can help us process our emotions. It’s healthy and brings us closer as friends. We took the name from an Environmental Science concept, so it only felt right to make the logo design feel nature-y and overgrown.
I feel like my biggest struggle for this project was trying to figure out a style. Everything I tried to draw looked more cartoonish than I wanted it to. I eventually had to find a compromise between my vision and my own artistic abilities. I’m pleased with how it turned out, but that doesn’t mean it’s exactly what I had originally envisioned. In fact, art rarely works out that way. But if you’re familiar with the medium, you can probably get something pretty close.
