My inspiration for my one page flyer was from an event that I am looking forward to for later this year, which is a cross-country bike race. I feel like this event is only known about from inside connections to coaches and bike teams but I believe that creating a poster for it would make it more known to people that would want to race but are not on a team. I have grown throughout this project by learning more about how to use InDesign and how to put ideas together and make a single image have information about an event. I struggled a little bit with how to make the poster actually catch people’s attention, and the way I solved that was by putting a big graphic in the middle of the flyer. If I were to change anything, I might add more color so it catches the eye better.
The elements of this project that I am most proud of is the creativity of the graphic in the middle, implementing the six and the lower case sigma letter into the image which shows a little bit about the event. When I went to this event last year, I had so much fun and loved sharing that experience with others, and that is why I made a flyer about it for this project. This project made me realize that making posters for events is more difficult than it seems so I will look for new methods of catching attention in other flyers in the future.
