Shotaro is the protagonist of the 1988 film Akira. Set in 2019, the leader of a bosuzoku gang must stop his childhood friend, who gains telekinetic powers after a motorcycle incident, from destroying Neo-Tokyo. Of average height and build, Shotaro’s headstrong nature and
perseverance are his strong spots. He cannonically wears a a red bomber jacket, red leather pants and boots. Kaneda's high-tech motorcycle is an iconic feature. As the group's leader, he is entitled to have the most technologically and aesthetically-advanced bike.
