In this Phenakistoscope Wheels project, I decided to draw the Nyan Cat which was a very popular meme back in 2011. I really like the idea of a cat having the body of a pop tart while flying through the galaxy because I think it's such a creative concept. I wanted to demonstrate that through this animation. I further customized the character by adding sunglasses which I believe could provide protection while flying through space. Throughout this process, I also stumbled through the obstacle of how the animation was going to flow for the end result. I found that the element of movement was missing and when spun, the Nyan Cat did not appear as cruising through the background. If I had the opportunity to make a design like this, I would definitely pay attention how my creation would proceed.
