Leo Aboriginal Project: A Aboriginal Dot Painting by Noah Esparza (2021)

For our Aborigine Project we were instructed to create a Aboriginal Photoshop Painting that represented us in unique ways. Using some of the many different Aboriginal Symbols I decided to use the “Sun” and “Fire” Aboriginal Symbol. I picked these two symbols because they represent my Astrological Sign which is a Leo. I used the sun to show power and drive that keeps me going, that expresses myself to the truest form. My second symbol was fire. I picked this symbol because it shows power and strength. I also added a lion and astrology star pattern to show my astrology animal and star pattern. I created this piece to represent me. I am a Leo who is strong and always driven to accomplish and achieve whatever I put my mind to, I’m not afraid to show myself and who I really am to others.

My creation process for this project was very complicated at first. I wasn't sure how I wanted to place each symbol and where my other designs in the back of my symbols would still stand out. Running into these issues made it harder to create the piece but after a few sketches I found a sketch I liked for my project creation. I wanted to place my fire going throughout the middle of my canvas. Doing this I then placed my sun, lion, and star pattern in the middle of the fire. I then placed two suns in between each symbol after that I then created a design in the background. Using this design I wanted it to follow my color pattern and give a look of strength and power. One thing I would change is the little details throughout my fire in the middle of the canvas to give it more of a pop and brighter look. Related website
