My experience using Photoshop to make a pastel painting was very interesting. I got comfortable with tools that I do not normally use, and with different types of strokes. Overall, I learned a lot about layering and drawing mainly.
I valued the process, learning to not go with my first thought of the easiest thing to do, and instead taking the time to do something well. I valued the expression and color choices especially.
I learned that normally, I tend to take the easy route, and while it is easier, it's much more fun to go the hard way and make something that I'm proud of. I learned also, that sampling a color and using it to paint was a very effective and cohesive tool.
