Watercolor Paintings: A Senior Photo Conversions to Watercolor Paintings Set by Alessandro Valdevit (2021)

For our Watercolor Painting Effect project Freestyle Academy’s seniors were taught a seamless method for converting photos into a realistic looking watercolor painting. The assignment was to convert 3 different photos that were meaningful to you. My first choice was a picture of my uncle who lives in Europe, the second is a childhood photo of my good friend Noah and the last photo is of the Chicago recording artist Lucki.

This method of creating watercolor images and textures using seemingly random effects in photoshop (such as the clouds filter) was a very interesting experience. As someone who’s still in the process of learning Photoshop it was exciting to see some of the more abstract uses for the program.

Now that I have learned the process I will likely continue to use this method for my own art or maybe even photoshoots as the watercolor texture can really bring new life to an already interesting photo. I am very excited for what is to come with Photoshop and look forward to continuing honing my skills by learning new techniques. Related website
