The Rule of Odds is a way to improve a composition in photography. Groups of three or five tend to draw the eye more and move the eye around the image. For this photo, I wanted to use this rule to guide me in my own photography. It was surprisingly difficult to find a compelling group of three or five. Luckily, I happened to find this stem with exactly five opening buds. I like how the bright colors of the buds draw attention to them and emphasize the number of them.
