Close up of a goats eye with a slight reflection of the hay ground infront

For this photo, we were supposed to be inspired by the idea of telling the soul through someone’s eyes. I wanted to push myself to think deeper, so instead of photographing a person, I decided to capture the soul of an animal. I took a photo of a goat, and through the reflection in its eyes, you can almost peer into how it sees the world.

It was a difficult process because the goat would not stay still and kept getting spooked by the camera. While I wish the photo was a little more zoomed in, I think the unique shape of the goat’s eyes makes the image especially interesting and recognizable. To me, the eyes show the goat’s gentle yet observant nature, which gives the photo a deeper feeling beyond just being a picture of an animal.
