When researching what visual mass is, I was inspired to try to create a balanced image even between two objects with different mass. In order to balance the different masses of the object, with the x having more mass than the candle due to the intense red color, I put the candle in a closer position that would make it appear a greater portion of the image, and thus increases its visual mass which helps balance the image. This was composed to create a balanced photo despite the original difference in mass between the objects, which makes the image feel pleasing to the eye, which achieves a balance.
