We don’t really get “Seasons” in California so shooting a seasonal photo was a little bit of a challenge. Luckily trees provide an excellent way of understanding the seasons.

In this photo, I tried to show color without color. I guess I maybe cheated a little bit but I am going to wave my right of artistic expression. The piece of wood in the center is a dying tree that formed a bridge over a nearby river. I walked across the bridge and took this photo. I grayscaled it and converted it into black and white but as I was playing with the vibrancy I had an idea. This is the end product. I really like it to me the hints of green and yellow really make the tree look so much more interesting.

This week’s photo challenged us to shoot something that inspires us. This was another challenge for me as I am a pretty outward thinking person who tends to overthink concepts like that. I find inspiration in people but is that the inspiration to keep going? No, I don’t think so. I think what inspires people is a complex mixture of things. For me, I get inspired by thinking about the long journey of life. The stories events and people who all live and breath on the same planet. All dancing and walking through their own unique problems and triumphs. If only we could all work together.

The theme for this week’s photo was the lighting. Try to use lighting effectively to create something interesting. This was the result, an old trail with flickering lights glowing. This shot was during the day and had color but I decided to convert it into a black and white still as it felt more natural.

This photoblog was dedicated to trying to express your culture. This was challenging for me as culture and identity is something I struggle with. Being Puertorican, German and Spanish it can feel like a struggle to tell people what I am. What I came up with was going back to what I believe. I am an American and my “Culture” is my own. That inspired to take this photo of an Iron boy sitting on a wagon on a rainy day. Sitting Patiently and thinking of all the things to do in a land of endless opportunity. The only Barrier to his dreams is himself.

In this Weeks Photo Blog we where asked to try to tell a story about someone through our photo. This was challenging and took time but what I came up with was this. My Friend Lina with her Twin sister standing next to each-other. The focus was to show how different Lina was from her twin in a minimal way, the red Spiderman Socks and dirty black shoes contrast with her Twin Clean white Shoes and short socks.

In this photo I was trying to show what I see when I am on a run. Our Freestyle weekly photo challenge for this week was take a photo of one of our habits. I think the photo fits well to the theme of Habits with ought restricting my image to a specific item. I enjoy taking Landscape Photography and Portrait photography so when possible I try to incorporate that to fit the Themes of the week.
