WHO AM I?
My name is Harlow and I am a student at Mountain View High School and Freestyle Academy, with a focus on film production. I love all things film, fashion, music, travel, and exercise. Some of my favorite artists are Lana del Rey, Phoebe Bridgers, Noah Kahan, and Dominic Fike. My top three movies right now (although always changing) are Slumdog Millionaire, Bottoms, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. When I’m not at school I’m usually at the gym, running, babysitting, at my job, or pursing my creative projects. I want to spend my life exploring the world, finding new perspectives, meeting new people, and documenting it all through my artwork.

WHAT ARE MY CORE VALUES?
My core values are kindness, self-respect, creativity, and community. I strive to live a life aligned with those values by impacting others positively, pouring into the communities I am involved in, putting myself first where I can, and creating more than I consume. One of my favorite quotes is, “Nothing is a loss when the goal is to experience.” Even in situations where I feel like I haven’t lived in alignment with my core values, I take it as experience and a lesson for next time on how to live more aligned to who I am at my core.

WHAT AM I PASSIONATE ABOUT?
I am very passionate about experiencing as much as possible during my short lifetime. I hope to spend my time on this Earth exploring and discovering what makes our world so unique. Being from a society that values conformity and preaches a single, similar life path for everybody, I have a big desire to learn about lifestyles different from my own and get out of my own bubble. I am passionate about travel and documenting my life experiences and the experiences of others through artwork (photography, film, etc.).

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO BECOME A FREESTYLE STUDENT?
I chose to become a Freestyle student because I noticed that the fast paced culture of Silicon Valley left me with little time to pursue my own artistic interests. Now, as a student at Freestyle, artistic pursuits are built into my schedule, and I have a wonderful community of like-minded artists who encourage me and hold me accountable in my work. I am very grateful for my decision to join Freestyle, as my love for all things art, especially film, has grown greatly in just one year.
