Hey I’m Izzy Speiser, I’m attending Mountain View High School from 2024-2028. I’m a Freestyle Academy student in Film, attending from 2026-2028.
What I value most in the world is kindness, self-improvement and humor. I think if everyone lived by these same values the world would be a cooler place.
Some of my passions currently include hanging at the beach where I like to surf and boogie board with friends or on my own. I also enjoy singing. Last year I spent most of my time singing and playing guitar for my 70s rock band Izzy and the Dyzzy Lyzzerds. Last year, you might’ve seen us playing on a Saturday night on the side of Castro. Something I’ve been doing my whole life is acting, in musicals, straight plays and films. Though I am still involved with theatre without acting, when I’m producing shows for my non-profit theatre company Upstage! But the one thing that I love to do to wind down, is go to a movie theatre and watch movies.
I joined Freestyle because all my time writing in my regular english class I was thinking, Why do I have to write about things that aren’t interesting? Why can’t I write about different worlds and characters of my own imagination? Then I learned that Freestyle can give that to me. I also learned about the film program, and seeing as films have so much importance to me and my life, I thought it would be so cool to be on the other end of the camera creating something, and seeing if I want to make it my life. While being Freestyle, I have come to appreciate the size of the classes, learning how much better I function and collaborate in smaller class sizes. I’m excited for you to see what I create here on my website!
