We were given the assignment to take a picture representing ourselves including us, but without including our face. Since the category for this portrait is Storytelling, I wanted this photo to represent a way I display my feelings, express my interests hobbies and memories, or essentially “tell a story”. My room in a way is a perfect representation of myself, it has all the aspects of my life inside, it is the place where I am truly myself with no boundaries. This photo tells its own story with what can be seen on the wall. It is a collection of signs, pictures, art made by myself and others and gifts given to me by those I hold close. It tells a hidden story through the memories that are attached to each item that Is hanging, Pictures taken in fun moments, experimental pieces of art that I had made with a spray can and stencil, signs from a hobby of urban exploration, and more pieces of art in which I find inspiration. Ultimately it tells a story of who I am and how I wish to express myself encapsulated within the collage of items hanging on the wall in my bedroom.
